Religion and Theology have been deeply embedded in the University’s history since 1822. While rooted in an area which is rich in religious heritage, our programmes provide insights into the religious diversity of the 21st-century world.
Philosophy is different from other academic disciplines in that it teaches you not what to think, but how to think. To get to grips with the world from which they derive, understanding their language is a vital tool. Studying Ancient Languages at UWTSD enables you to acquire skills to read and use original Greek or Latin texts, whilst putting texts in their wider historical contexts.
